The Wedding Ring
*******************
Since ancient times, marriages have been symbolised by the wearing of a ring. Usually worn by the wife, they were given as a token of possession. Once ringed, she was no longer available to circulate amongst other men.

It is true that a wedding ring is a token of possession, but rather than symbolising a man possessing a woman, it is the woman's possession of something valuable given by the man. Hence the current practice of using a precious metal, such as gold, platinum or titanium.

Engagements can be as exciting as a shooting star or as touching as a sweet surprise. But every memorable wedding proposal begins by thinking with the heart.

  1. Hello,
Thank you for stopping by for a visit, Aditi. I am honored. You must be a lovely young woman embarking on the first years of a marriage.
You will catch on to the ways of blogging in time. It's really a matter of paying attention every day or so once you begin to have followers. In time, people will come to your blog and find an affinity with you.
The design of my blog is a simple one: I seek simplicity and serenity, therefore I chose the simplest design that www.blogger.com offered. Yours looks simple as well but you haven't yet explored the part that offers you "gadgets" for your sidebar. Also, you can make your header more interesting...just go to "layout" for the options.

  2. Hi Aditi,
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it's true that Florida is beautiful, at least the parts that are on the Gulf of Mexico and on the Atlantic Ocean. If you travel inland, you'll see that Florida is swampy, completely without hills, and a rather dangerous place to be because of the alligators.
Hmmm, I will have to think about posting pictures of my town...maybe someday I'll find a reason to do it...something pretty with a story.

  3. Aditi,
Thanks for stopping by again. Yes, it's true that Florida is beautiful, especially along the seacoast and around the islands. Inland, though, it's swampy and full of alligators so I don't like to go there.
Someday I will think of a story and post a picture about Venice, my Florida town. But, right now, we are going north for the summer to Des Moines, Iowa, USA.
